Commissioning and training mooring project LNG Terminal Santos, Brazil
For commissioning and training of our complete mooring system for the new built LNG Terminal de Regaseificação de São Paulo (TRSP), our engineers went to the city of Santos, São Paulo in Brazil. The terminal will accommodate the floating vessel “Höegh Giant”.

Mooring project Equinor Kårstø terminal
The mooring project for Equinor Kårstø terminal in Norway has been completed in our factory and on its way to Norway. The Kårstø processing plant, located in the north of Stavanger, is the largest of its kind in Europe. The plant plays a key role in the transport and processing of gas and condensate from major sites of the northern parts of the North Sea.

Site inspection Brunei LNG, Quick Release Mooring Hooks
In 2011, James Fischer Strainstall supplied a complete mooring system to Brunei LNG consisting among others of multiple Quick Release Mooring Hooks and a Berthing Aid System. As part of our take over agreement with Strainstall, which enables Straatman to provide OEM spares to all Strainstalls historical Quick Release Hook projects as well as providing system upgrades and on-site support and servicing, our colleague Gertjan executed a site inspection at Brunei LNG last week.

For safe side-by-side mooring, we delivered a complete mooring system to FSRU Toscana, which is permanently moored about 22 km off the Italian coast between Livorno and Pisa, in the region of Tuscany.

Hands-on training mooring equipment
With the arrival of the (first) vessel, our service engineers returned to the various terminals where we recently delivered our mooring equipment, to make sure that integration of our equipment runs smoothly and to provide hands-on training to the terminal operators. By providing onsite training, the operators will know exactly how to handle the equipment safely and correctly and be able to identify and resolve problems themselves.

Urgent delivery of mooring equipment to terminal in Germany
End of November we were called by a German client as they were facing a problem at the LNG terminal in Brunsbüttel. This terminal is located in the North of Germany, along the Elbe river, close to Hamburg. The client had several mooring hook units which have been rejected after an inspection. With a ship coming in within a few weeks, Straatman was asked to deliver new triple Quick Release Mooring Hook units in just three weeks.

Last week we commissioned the complete mooring system for Germany’s first FSRU-based LNG Terminal, located in Wilhelmshaven in the North of Germany along the North Sea coast. The terminal will facilitate LNG import into the European market. Mid-December, the first FSRU can be docked.
